副詞quite之後不可緊接比較級形容詞,但若於該比較級形容詞之前加a bita lot則可,如Writing Chinese is quite a lot harder than reading it.

The adverb quite cannot be directly followed by a comparative adjective. However it can be used to modify the phrase "a bit" before a comparative. In the same way, quite can also modify the phrase "a lot" e.g. "Writing Chinese is quite a lot harder than reading it".
