made of係指某物製成所用之材料，亦可用made cut of，而made by是被動語態的某物由某人做成，如This cuckoo clock is made by a long craftsman in a small Swiss village.

The preposition "of", after "made" introduces a construction material, such as wood, metal or plastic. We can also say "made out of..." "made by" introduces the maker(s), e.g. "This cuckoo clock is made by a long craftsman in a small Swiss village".
